Kettering Borough Council have today fined a local man GBP100 for trying to dispose of his dead father in a bin bag.

"We're having to clamp down," explained Susan Shaw of the Refuse department. "To many people are disposing inappropriate items via their wheely bins. We hope this fine will deter others."

But Mr James was unrepentant.

"You can't always be bothered to go down the tip for every broken piece of glass, hazardous waste or dead body. I'd only just come back from taking my garden clippings."

The local neighbourhood watch are outraged.

"This is disgusting," said Kyton Keele. "Mr James lid was down and everything. His dead father was under the weight limit and all the smell was sealed in a bin liner. He had obeyed every rule. This is just local authority gone mad."
